With financial assistance and mentorship from the Scholarship Program, 50 Milwaukee students — many the first in their families to attend college — have graduated since the program began in 2009. These graduates, along with the 27 students currently enrolled in the program, have experienced Rotary’s commitment to them and their future through a financial scholarship, educational programming and mentorship.
Each January, the Rotary Club of Milwaukee brings together scholarship recipients, their families and Rotary Mentors for a special brunch at the Pfister Hotel. Learn more about the Scholarship Program in this video that was filmed at one of those brunches. Click here to view.

Create a Named Legacy Scholarship
Through the generosity of individuals and families, endowed named scholarships ensure that future generations of students will be supported by the Scholarship Program, learn more here. A named scholarship can be established with a gift of $50,000 given through:
- A one-time gift. A gift of $50,000 or more made at one time will establish a named legacy scholarship and will immediately begin benefiting a scholar.
- A multi-year gift. A donor may pledge to build a fund over a number of years while simultaneously making a gift to be used for a current scholar. For example, a donor pledges $12,500 a year for five years; of that amount $2,500 is used each year to support a current scholar while $10,000 is invested in the endowment for future use.
- An estate gift. A donor may establish a Named Legacy Scholarship as part of their estate plans.
- A gift for the present and the future. An estate gift can be combined with annual giving to create a virtual legacy fund, allowing the donor to witness the impact of their generosity during their lifetime. For example, a donor can include a $100,000 gift in their estate plan and commit to an annual gift of $5,000 for a scholarship in the name of the donor to immediately support a student.
