It was a good night for Rotary at the 2015 Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation (MANDI) on April 15th! Our club won the BMO Harris Bank Cornerstone Award, which recognizes an organization for tenacious commitment and effectiveness. Executive Director Mary McCormick and President John Bernaden accepted the award on behalf of the club.
As a special bonus, Rotarian George Solveson was the winner of the US Bank raffle and chose Rotary as the recipient of their $500 contribution - which Rotary will contribute to the Johnsons Park Initiative. And continuing the Rotary generosity, Past President Jackie Herd-Barber will match this contribution.
We are honored that the MANDI jury selected RCM for this award, and to be in such good company with the other MANDI finalists, Express Yourself Milwaukee and the Pan-African Community Association. We thank our partners Center for Resilient Cities and the Urban Ecology Center for nominating Rotary for the award last fall.
This award acknowledges the work Rotarians have accomplished together over the last century, and the honor and credit belongs to all of our members.
