Erin Richards, an education reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel will talk about her latest project: a series of stories examining rampant student turnover in Milwaukee and at schools nationwide, and how churn is an under-discussed factor tied to lower test scores, fractured social ties, increased discipline issues and in general, a disrupted learning pipeline for many kids. Rotarian and Editorial Page Editor David Haynes will discuss the extent of student turnover that we quantified in their reporting. He will also share some potential solutions.
