Volunteers Needed for Ukrainian Families Seeking Medical Treatment
As Director of Friends of Be an Angel, Rotarian Anya Verkhovskaya coordinates medical evacuations of Ukrainian families and life-saving treatment for the rare genetic disorder spinal muscular atrophy.
Three Ukrainian families whose critically ill children will be treated at Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee need help settling into the community. They need such things as occasional rides, some advice on how to grocery shop or help in navigating the health care system.
- Help find apartments for the families
- Collect donations of household items and other essentials
- Drive the families to appointments
- Coordinate appointments with doctors and other offices
- Make telephone calls to insurance companies
Your support can make a significant difference in these children’s and families’ lives. If you can help in any capacity, contact Anya anya@friendsofbeanangel.org or Boris Nenide at boris@friendsofbeanangel.org. Knowledge of Ukrainian and/or Russian is not required. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to making a positive impact.
