Polio Plus

Polio Plus, Rotary International’s signature program, was established in 1985 and has been dedicated to eradicating polio around the world. More than one million Rotarians have volunteered time and personal resources to protect more than 2.5 billion children throughout 122 countries from polio. Recently news from the fight against polio has been mixed.  The good news is that fewer strains of the virus are circulating than ever before and there are only two places, Afghanistan and Pakistan, where polio remains endemic.  However, cases of polio emerged in places where it has not been seen for some time, including the United States.  Our fight to end polio is not over.
