As the United Nations marks its 81st anniversary, Joe Cirincione will discuss the enduring need for an organization that remains the premier global arena for world leaders tackling the most serious problems facing the peoples of the world. Today, we need the United Nations for much more, including forging global responses to artificial intelligence, pandemics, terrorism, poverty and nuclear war.

Cirincione, who has worked in national security and foreign policy for 45 years and is widely regarded as a leading expert on nuclear weapons policy, will share his perspective on why, now more than ever, we need a revitalized United Nations to solve problems no nation can solve on its own.
