Since its start in 2009, 33 Milwaukee students, many the first in their family to attend college, have graduated with the support of the Scholarship Program. These graduates along with the 26 students currently enrolled in the program, have felt firsthand Rotary’s commitment to them and their future through a financial scholarship, educational programming and mentorship.

Create a Named Legacy Scholarship
A named scholarship can be established with a gift of $50,000 given through various ways:
- A one-time gift: A gift of $50,000 or more made at one time will establish a named legacy scholarship and will immediately begin benefiting a scholar.
- A multi-year gift: A donor may pledge to build a fund over a number of years while simultaneously making a gift to be used for a current scholar. For example, a donor pledges $12,500 a year for five years; of that amount $2,500 is used each year to support a current scholar while $10,000 is invested in the endowment for future use.
- An estate gift: A donor may establish a Named Legacy Scholarship as part of their estate plans.
- A gift for the present and the future: An estate gift can be combined with annual giving to create a “virtual legacy fund”, allowing the donor to witness the impact of their generosity during their lifetime. For example, a donor can include a $100,000 gift in their estate plan and commit to an annual gift of $5,000 allowing a scholarship in the name of the donor to immediately support a student.
