The Rotary Club of Milwaukee, through the RCM Community Trust, will be the proud sponsor of an opening night film at the 2017 Milwaukee Film Festival.
STUMPED, tells the true story of filmmaker Will Lautzenheiser, who suddenly becomes a quadruple amputee. Taking an unconventional approach to therapy, Will pursues stand-up comedy to cope with his losses. As Will adjusts to a new life with the support of his partner, Angel, news breaks about an experimental double-arm transplant that offers Will hope to reclaim his independence. Funny and characterdriven, STUMPED delves into cutting-edge medicine alongside a truly indomitable spirit.
Will certainly is a Leader Making Difference—and it promises to be an inspiring story.
The film has won rave reviews wherever it has played and we are thrilled to sponsor such a powerful film. The film’s director, Robin Berghaus and the two lead actors are scheduled to attend both screenings - and we think these will be one of the big highlights of the festival.
We're excited that RCM will sponsor this inspirational film and to will have Opening Night presence and recognition. Milwaukee film is an organization dedicated to building community through the art of storytelling. We see lots in common with our strong commitment to the community and can't wait for the festival to begin.
Tickets available for Film Festival screening!
The film will screen twice - once on Opening Night Film then on Saturday, September 30 at 4:30pm at the Downer. We have 40 tickets to raffle for Saturday screening. We will make the tickets available in pairs—so 20 Rotarians and a guest will have a chance to attend the screening.
We also have 15 Film Festival vouchers. Although some restrictions apply, the vouchers can be exchanged at the box office for a ticket to attend any screening. We will also raffle the vouchers.
Please call or email Rita if you’d like to put your name for a chance for tickets for STUMPED (September 30th at 4:40 pm at the Downer) or for the general Film Festival vouchers. Winners will be announced at the September 12th Rotary meeting.
