Announcing RCM’s 2017-18 President, JoAnne Anton

The Rotary Club of Milwaukee is pleased to announce that JoAnne Anton will be RCM’s 105th President, serving 2017-2018.

JoAnne has been a Rotarian since 2003. She has served on the RCM Board of Directors and on multiple committees including Member Engagement, Recruitment and Admission, Social, and the International Scholarship and Vocational Exchange.

In response to this new challenge, JoAnne reflected, “Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself  is to lose yourself in service to others.” while Bono sang that “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.”  Rotary helps me face that question of purpose. Opportunities like this to serve others, keep us growing, searching and connecting.  I’m excited about this new role with Rotary, an organization that allows me to live my values with a local, national and global view.”

JoAnne is the Director of Herb Kohl Philanthropies.  She previously served as Wisconsin State Director to U.S. Senator Herb Kohl, and before that, staff assistant in the office of the Mayor of Milwaukee.

JoAnne has a masters from the School of Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and received her undergraduate degree from Marquette University.  She serves on numerous boards including Safe & Sound, COA, Professional Dimensions, the City of Milwaukee Library Board, the Harbor District Initiative and Walkers Point Association. She has been honored by the Milwaukee Business Journal as a Woman of Influence, and with a 40 Under 40 award, and was recently recognized as the Herb Kohl Champion of Change for her work with Safe and Sound.  Married with two sons, JoAnne and her family proudly reside in the Walkers Point neighborhood in the City of Milwaukee.
