For the last 12 years, RCM has offered a fellowship to a Future Milwaukee graduate, chosen by the Community Leadership and Development committee. The fellowship is for a 3-year membership in the Rotary Club of Milwaukee, with the expectation that the fellow will participate as a full Rotary member – attending lunches, participating on committees, volunteering – and continue as a Rotarian after the fellowship ends. The goal is to foster an active relationship between Future Milwaukee and Rotary.
This year the Community Leadership Development committee conducted interviews with four very strong applicants and elected to offer one Fellowship. We are excited to welcome our new Future Milwaukee Fellow to the Rotary Club of Milwaukee, Griselda Aldrete.
Griselda Aldrete is the President & CEO of Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee (HPGM). She received her B.A. from Marquette University in Criminology/Law Studies and Spanish, her M.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and is currently pursuing her J.D. from Marquette University Law School. She serves on the board of directors for 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, The Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation, Pivot Milwaukee and Building Brave. Aldrete also serves on the advisory board for Visit Milwaukee Multicultural Committee, Notre Dame Middle School, United Way Emerging Leaders and United Way Latina Taskforce. She’s a steering committee member for Milwaukee Women Inc. Most recently, Aldrete was selected as a U.S. Delegate for the British American Project and named one of Wisconsin’s top 48 most powerful Latinos.
Welcome to the Club, Griselda!
