Ukraine Support
Ukraine Support

With temperatures plummeting and Russian forces demolishing power sources, our friends in Ukraine are entering a very dangerous, potentially catastrophic winter. Rotary Clubs across Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and beyond have raised nearly $125,000 for generators that will provide power and warmth to Ukrainian humanitarian facilities (e.g., shelters, hospitals and orphanages).

Since the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Rotary Clubs have partnered with the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America (UMANA) and Friends of Be an Angel in the effort to deliver urgently needed medical supplies to Ukraine. Now the focus has turned to delivering generators that will provide power and warmth to Ukrainian humanitarian facilities this winter.

Friends of Be an Angel has arranged to purchase over 1000 generators.  The first shipment of 400 generators will be enroute to Ukraine at the end of January.  The cost of the generators is $865,000. To date commitments have been received for just under $600,000.

PARTNERS

For this effort, Rotary Clubs are continuing their partnership with Friends of Be an Angel. Friends of Be an Angel has been an essential and trusted partner in Rotary/UMANA efforts to send medical supplies from Milwaukee/Chicago and distribute them to the frontline in Ukraine. They will provide impact reports and documentation of the deliveries, so that there is no question that the supplies are put to good use.
